I need to clear something up. From what I can find, the frames on the 73-91 1/2 ton Subs are the same as the 3/4 ton. The difference between them are in the brakes and axles. Is this true? Or is their some tie in with the 1 ton chassis?

I have heard several people say that the 3/4 ton frames are stamped from thicker steel. Never verified it myself, but I am curious to find out.

Best Sub site I have seen...

    http://forums.vmag.com/suvsuburban0402/

Might post the question over there. I have seen posts before where the comment was made that the 3/4 ton frame was bigger/thicker, but I do not personnally know. When you find the answer, PLEASE post it here. I have a '91 I am converting to 1 ton axles with NV4500 and NP205...
