I just finished installing a 4 inch lift by Pro-comp. I used rear leaf springs. The problem is that when you stand back and look, the front looks good and high, but the back isn't really that high. Is this normal? What should I do to fix this? I have been told blocks are dangerous, but I really don't want to spend another 150 dollars on more expensive fixes. What can I do so that my blazer doesn't look like it is ready to launch off into space.
    Thanks
    Mitch

I would warranty the rear springs out, not bandaid it with zero rates.

What do you mean by warranty the rear springs out? Does that mean that they are defective and I should return them?

Wait a few weeks and make sure they don't settle, and if so, yes, they are defective, and warranty them out.

Thanks for the advice. It just sucks because I really like the way the front looks, but the back just really doesn't even hardly look like it was lifted. This lift kit has been a pain since the first bolt refused to come lose.

are you sure you have the correct front and rear springs? You could have gotten a 6" spring for the front and 4 for the rear, or 4 for the front and 2.5 for the rear. Just something to double check.

yeah, i checked with pro-comp and both the front and rear springs are correct. I guess I'm just going to have to go with some kind of helper spring or block. Thanks for the help.

What front and rear axle do you have.....I have been told the dana60 has a spring pad that is 1" taller than a 14 bolt. I leveled mine out by adding a 1" block in the rear.

To be honest, I'm not really sure what the axles are. Its an 87 so I think it came with the GM corporate 10 bolt. I haven't checked yet but I'm pretty sure this thing was stock when I got it about a month ago.

most lift kits come with a 4" spring and a 3" or 3.5" block or 6" spring and 5" or 5.5" block. i think they think it "levels them out" but it doesn't. i pulled the 4" springs and a 3" tapered block out of the same truck and put them in my truck. my back sits noticlibly lower.

ill probably make my own 4" tapered blocks for the rear and bolt them to the spring pack to make it level again.

Instead of simply shackle flipping it and ending the block problem. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
