Okay this is pretty stupid, but here it go's. I have the DVR cable box in the living room, and a regular cable box in the bed room. Both TV's on the same channel. There is a wierd echo. The sound the living room is like a second behind the sound in the bed room. Standing in the hall way by the crapper, it sounds strang.

that's because there is a slight delay with the DVR. I have DVR with my DirecTv and it does the same thing. It does sound weird. have you seen when the audio will be off from what the actors are saying? reminds me of some of the old kung fu movies, that's even more creepy.:yikes: :screwy: :screwy: :haha:

but I assume it does this because of the feed going thru the "hard drive/memory" so you can pause or rewind it.

Yup that's right. The DVR has a different processing speed as it has more hoops to jump through. We have two Tivos in our house and they run at the same speed i.e. no weird echo as opposed to when we had a regular box and a Tivo just like you're describing.

You are actualy watching a recorded image from the DVR. It is no longer "live TV" per say. Hence the 1 second delay.
