Call around for Red-Tek 12A, it's good stuff and most heavy truck/machinery places carry it. You'll need to convert your low-side fitting to a 134 type, or buy a R12 side-tap to put it in. I paid $8 a can here at Filter Supply Co., and apparently other retailers run about the same.

Can you add this to R-12? I'm sure I have a leak but I was told I could add a can and make it through the summer. Does the whole system have to be evacuated? I don't care about small leaks 'cause I will be redoing it later and just want a little helper. TIA

I just charged my system up using Freeze 12 and it worked great. Paid $4.75 per pound (can) at the Pronto Auto here in town. No, you cant mix the two. We tried on other vehicles and it starts doing weird things. You have to drain the old and put in the new. I say go for it.

Thanks for the warning. Hopefully by the time I'm able to get a new one it will be approved. Thanks for the info Matt.
