So its been cold up here in CA. Well I have just looked at my engine in my 75 when I noticed coolant on the top of my intake? Did my block freeze over and pop some freeze plugs? and would you be able to see if they would be bad or can the coolant leak out of the plugs with out them popping out of the block? my radiator was half empty when i checked.
I havent started the truck in the past two weeks. any idea?

If the coolant is on top of the intake you prolly have a leak somewhere rather than a bad freeze plug. The freeze plugs are on the ends of the cyl heads and on the side of the block. Maybe a bad thermostat housing gasket...or a hose with a small leak at the thermostat housing. Could be a bad heater hose as well. That's where I'd start to look first...

Machines break down, fact of life. To me half the fun is breaking them, 1/4 the fun is fixing them and the other 1/4 is drinking Jim Beam and Big-K while fixing them.
