    FRONT 10B AND 37\'S

I am swapping in a 14 ff rear with 4.56's soon, and am planning to run 37 inch ssr's or goodyear wrangler mtr's. I dont have the money for a 60 up front, so I will be stuck with a 10B. Will a front 10B hold up to 37's under some wheeling. I will not be doing anything really major like moab or anything, just weekend trips to uwharrie, mud pits, and maybe a trip or two to tellico next year. I just want to know how well it will hold up. Thanks.

It will hold up ok if you are light on the throttle, light to moderate wheeling. Just make sure to take spare parts with you just in case /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Leave it open and lay off the stupid pedal on anything harder than sloppy mud and I bet you won't have any problems at all. Keep a 2nd set of shafts on hand just in case. I always have.

Thats the answer I was looking for. Thanks yall. But, while your reading, does anybody know if they make the steel rock crawler wheels in a 15" diameter with 8 lugs? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat but with 39.5's. I have the 14ff in already just waiting on the 8-lug conversion that I'm doing next week. I don't have the money for a D60 so I'll run the front 10B even with the 39.5's. I'll just be easy on it till I can afford a D60. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Yeah they have them in about any back spacing you want. I think 2 3/4 is standard from what they told me when I was looking. I ended buying a new set from a guy on this board for a bit less. Was a good deal for me. Otherwise they would have come from 4WPW.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Re: FRONT 10B AND 37\'S

EDIT: I think that you'll be fine with a 10b and 37's, especially if you beef it up a little bit. But not with 40's.

Save up your money, and buy a d60. You are spending more on the tires, then you would on the D60. I personally would rather have a d60 and 35's, then a 10b and 40's (and I did that).

I understand that it looks like a lot of money to spend at once. But you will regret having a tiny axle, and big tires. You'll have to wheel like a grandma, and you won't like it. The only time that I actually wheeled hard on the 10 bolt, it got jacked up (like it tore teeth off of the gears, and the hubs went bye bye). So I had to fix that, and now I have a d60, and I'm just waiting on some parts to come in the mail.

This is just my opinion, I am not sure how hard you wheel, but I like the skinny pedal.

... now with that said... I've got a 3/4 T 10bolt front (works now), with 4.56 gears that I'm wanting to sell.

That is not true. The 15x10s I ordered only come in 4 1/4" backspacing. I was kinda mad that's all I could get (I wanted 3.75-4") but oh well...
