Keep it or nix it? I'm talking the one under the front bumper. I know it's supposed to direct air to the engine or something, but is it worth keeping? I'm gonna be under it tomorrow anyway, so I figured I might pull it since I'm down there, unless it's just a bad idea.
    Thanks as usual /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I took mine off and havn't noticed a change in engine temps. So, no problems here. Now I don't have to worry about hitting it on something offroad.

Someday I might actually take my truck offroad...but it will happen someday. Right now, I just have to have it look tougher than my friends Scout II...which is tough right now...his truck looks mean.
So, unless anybody says anything differnt (Dorian, I'm looking in your direction) it's coming off tomorrow. Anything else I can do (without breaking out the reciprocating saw) to toughen in up.

Technically the air dam is there to limit the amount of air that will travel under the truck. It may actually make a difference on a stock height 2WD but on a K5 or K-anything that is stock height or higher, it's just some fru-fru crap.

Not only does it keep the air from going under causing funny hot/cold spots on your engine. It also keeps the water from vehicles that you are following, on rainy days obviously, away from your fan.
