What is there something between a dana 44 and dana 60? I am getting a frame and gonna start a frame up. i just dont really want to go all the way with some one ton axels. thers no rocks and not really any use for it here. Which I know comes as a suprise to some. i have shattered u joints but never broke an axel.

    thanks again

thats what i needed to see. i already have the dana 44 up front and the 12 bolt in the rear w/ 3.73's. i wasnt sure how much i could beef it up other than gears. i didnt know if ther was 3/4 ton version. i knew the back went 10, 12, 14, D60, D70 ect

    thanks

I would get rid of that 12 bolt in the rear and put in a 14 Bolt FF !!!!!

Yes there is a 3/4 ton version but the only difference from the 1/2 ton is 8 lug hub/rotors instead of 6 lug! Both still have the 30spline shafts....
    Good Luck /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I dont want eight lug. i just like 6 lug better. so i guess i will do as you say and just put some better axel shafts and gears in it.

I am looking around for one at the right price if i find one it'll be there for sure.

    thanks
