    Front Axle in \'72 Custom 20 4x4

What front axle would be in a 72 Custom 20. I am new to this but I know that a d44 and d60 look much alike but it looked like a dana 44 to me except the d60 is much bigger. Chevy didn't start using the d60 until 77 or so, right? and that was only in one ton trucks, right?

    Thanks,

    Trey

That would have a dana 44.

    8 lug, I believe.

Yep, BigMac is correct. It would be an open knuckle, disc brake, 1st design 8 lug Dana 44.....with the smaller 260x u-joints like my '71 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
