the bearing on my pinion gear is shot anything special besides a press needed to fix this.
Which bearing? The inner or the outer? You will need to replace the races when replacing the bearing. If it is the inner bearing, you may also have to re-setup the gears. If it is the outer, you shouldn't have to re-set them up, but you will have to remove the carrier to get the pinion out. You will need something powerful to deliver the 400 or so ft lbs of pressure required to crush the crush sleeve on re-installation (you will need a new crush sleeve).
All this is assuming a 10-bolt. Do you know what caused it to fail? Is there a bigger issue you also need to consider?
