I was in my 88 K5 (4" Lift 33's) and my bro was in his 150 4x4 HD. He went out of this ditch, i followed. As I came up and out the body was twisted and i heard some sever creaking. my bro gets out, says my frame is not connected to the body anymore. i tore both front body mounts. I was wondering if i should do a body lift. Do I need to do anything with the shift linkage with about a 1" or 2" body lift?

I have a two inch body lift and had to extend the shifter linkage. The lift kit came with short section of rod to lengthen the linkage.

I blew out a core support doing the same thing. When I replace them I'm going to use some springs to let the frame drop away from the body if it needs to before it does any damage. I've seen it done on a few trucks and it works great.
