Front brake lines on dana 44 swapp

    Ive got an 85 blazer and got a 78 3/4 tonn front end i swapped it in ,but the original brake ends are two small i need to know what brake lines i need and if i ordered ones for a 78 if they would mount up at the frame if not what should i do.Thanks

    Use the same caliper that was on the 10 bolt that was in front of your truck. The caliper should bolt up with no probs to the older backing plate, mine did, and my front axle is a 10 bolt with D44 outer parts.

    You can use your original calipers if you want. If you want to use D44 calipers you need new lines. The difference is that 10 bolts use metric (10mm) banjo bolts. The D44 uses standard (7/16") banjo bolts.

    The whole banjo fitting is different, not just the bolt. I had the same problem and I just spent the 40 bucks on some extended brake lines for a 74 3/4 ton and put them on. Worked fine on the frame end.
