I'd be very interested in seeing what is available for front winch bumpers. I want something that's not flimsy, but I also don't want to look like a wrecker. If you have pics of yours, please post 'em. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He's got some great stuff there. I like the standard tube style front winch bumper. It doesn't really look like he has a rear one that quite matches that, at least not without the wraparound stuff. If I get a tubular front bumper, it seems like I should get one for the rear that kinda matches.

Does the guy who runs 4x4Iron hang out here sometimes?

My boring and now bent front bumper. Let this be a lesson, when you are building a bumper, finish the bracing at the same time. That whole "I'll get a round toit" argument is a sure bet that murphy and his law will reach over and tweak your bumper /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif [IMG]

I am starting to build bumpers for full size 4x4s. I have dealt mostly with Blazers and Chevy trucks. I am building a set for a member's 70 K5 and a front bumper for a Kodiak tow truck right now. I use 10" tall by 1/4" thick "C" channel from semi truck frames (virgin material, not wrecking yard). I have a few pics at: BodyGuards by T-roy
I'm not trying to advertise, but since you are looking for ideas...

Just notice that his site says he's not taking orders at this time. Is that still the case?

Thats a really nice bumper! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
Can you post up some pics of the winch mount and skid plate area? I checked out your truck out on 4x4iron.com but it didn't show those areas that well either.

Thanks! Yeah Tim builds some good stuff.
I will try to get some new pictures soon. I've been really busy so give me a little time.
Tim is back and building as stated above.
Check out my webshots area for now and I'll see what I can do.

Daniel (DP 90K5) builds his own bumpers, the one in the pic is his latest with his winch tucked under the core support. You can search for his user name in the Member's Rides section and see more pics of it and other bumpers he's built.

I bought a rear bumper from Daniel last fall and he's about to start on a front one (and some sliders) for me now. FWIW, I think his work is top notch and he's a great guy to deal with. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
