I found out my D44 carrier is junk yesterday. I figure now would be the time to swap in a better diff. I am leary about putting a detroit in the front as this truck is my plow truck in the winter. ARB is out of the budget. How about a lock right or whatever. I think for me a LSD in the front would be fine. Do front LSD's make the truck lose turning radius like a true locker?

You could try a True Trac(all gear LSD, no Clutches) since you are using it to Plow and are worried about turning radius. But for hard wheelin, they dont lock like a regular locker as much... Or possibly a Powr-Lok, they can be built(more clutches added and stiffer springs) to lock harder.. If you go with a Lock-Right, you will still have to buy another carrier.

Yeah Detroit tru trac is an extremley good posi /lsd. Wichever you prefer to call it.
Doens't affect handling at all, great "manners" no lock/unlock weave, no chirping tires.
Aurburn makes a good LSD. Duno if it affects handling but they say it will deliver more torque to the high traction wheel, even when the loose wheel traction is 0. and uses a hi-bias diff design.
