What is the small part of the front drive shaft called? I have an 86' with 10bolts (if that makes any difference).

There is a small cover type thing that holds in the grease. What is that called? Can I buy that part seperately or would I need to get a new front part of the drive shaft.

Sorry I don't know what all that stuff is called.

    Thanks!! /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

I don't think it's just a gasket. There's a hole like there should be some type of cover on it to hold in the grease. Can I just try to stuff it with something rubber? Should that piece be open?
    Thanks for your help! /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

If you are referring to the front yoke of the driveshaft which attaches to the front differential yoke then YES, there is a small plug with a hole in it. You can simply find a proper size concave freeze plug and install it there. Sometimes people weld the plugs in place.
