Yes, you can take the driveshaft out and still run it. Just don't put it in 4wd. Eight bolts and it's out. (grease your CV joint centering ball while it's out too, trust me on this one...)

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!! <img src="http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/mad.gif">

Remember dont go out and play without it in though. IT sucks when you have a 4x4 and cant use it.

My front driveshaft is off on my NP 241 and I still put it in 4x4. Doesn't hurt it, the front drivshaft is a fixed yoke, so it keeps the lube in. It's just like having 2 Low. Just make sure you don't floor it on the street in Low, you'll blow up the axle. I'm surprised at what this thing can do in 2. Nothing like blasting around in the mud.

I know you can still put it in 4 wheel drive buy when I go out I always need 4 wheel drive. Just like today I went out and had to test 4 low again :) I found two ditches dug out in the field behind me. They were right nest to one another and both were 3 1/2 foot drops. One you started to get out of the first one you went into the second one. I dragged my gas tank and hitch all the way though. Its a good thing the tank has a shield and I am locked front and rear :)

I had to get my crossover pipe rerouted so I ran the truck for a while with no front driveshaft. If its legal in your state, go with true dual pipes, keeps everything nice and neat.
