front driveshaft play

    while greasing my burb today i noticed that on the front driveshaft at the slip yoke i could move it up and down about 1/4 "is this okay? /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    Looks like its starting to wear out some. Might start planning on replacing it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    I agree I would definetly start looking for a replacement shaft my buddies was doing the same thing and then he tried 4 wheeldrive and all that happend was the splined part spun in side the yoke /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

    Was the driveshaft/u-joint moving in the yoke, or was the yoke moving in the diff housing?

    If the whole yoke was moving, the nut holding it on may have just started loosening up.

    no its just where they slide together it moves the ujoint and diff are tight /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif
