After installing front 6in lift springs and a front driveshaft spacer on a 78 Chevy PU, I am still having driveshaft rotation problems....Popping and binding.
Is it standard practice to remove "lugs or stops" from around
the u joint area? Are there any other mods that may help?

Did your front springs come with shims to correct for the angle? Might want to try some small shims in there if it didn't...

You can usually get away with a little bit of grinding on it to help clear it up. You might want to consider dropping the transfer some. I run a six inch lift and went ahead and bought a high angle CVC joint which took care of everything. But if your looking to save a buck, Drop the T-case. Sometimes there are spacers on top of the framerail on the crossmember bolts, just put them between the frame and the crossmember.

Yes you can clearance grind the CV joint.

Superlift makes a 1" driveshaft spacer that's cheap and may avoid a new shaft.

Otherwise, find a stock shaft that is longer than yours and shorten it. If you have a TH 350, a 700R4 tranny is longer and might get you a longer driveshaft. Even a TH 400 is slightly longer than a TH 350.

Take a die grinder or a Dremmel tool and clearance it.
You should be able to see where it is binding.
