I have been noticing lately that the front shackles are both bent toward the Drivers Side by approx 1/2 inch & I was wondering if this could explain the slight crabbing . I had a collision about a year ago & destroyed a 15x10 steel wheel & snapped off the Pass / side shock mount as well . I fell asleep at the wheel & hit the freeway divider ( dont do this ) .
My ? is are front shackles meant to be straight ?

They are ORD Heavy duty front shackles. Alot of people on this board run them on their rigs, including myself, and I haven't heard about anyone bending them.

    See Ya,

Bent forward? Wow, I've never seen (or noticed) that before and I've seen allot of wrecked trucks. Anyway, stock shackles should definitely be straight. The ORD pieces are much better than the stocks. They are heavier and 0.5" longer to help prevent impact with the frame caused by lift springs which are bowed down rather than up like the factory. Depending on your lift and flex, these may or may not completely eliminate frame impact.

I think he means the shackles are bent toward the drivers side, laterally.
Mine did this because the holes in the shackles were so ovalled out on one side[IMG]

Oh, duh! Your right! It's still early for me and I somehow read that as "bent forward on the drivers side". Sheesh, sorry about the confusion. Ok, where is that pot of coffee! [IMG]
