I was wondering if anyone has some front shock hoops running the rancho 9012 or dostech shocks with an almost vertical mount?

I used the search forum for The Garage and read where yunit was planning on making some for his K5. I know you can have custom ones made, I was just wanting to know If anyone has done this to their K5 or K10 yet.

    Eric.

    Eric,

Most guys just use the F*RD ones.....I got mine for $11 each from a local dealer. That's cheaper than buying the metal and making them myself!!!!

There's a "Tech Article" that talks about long travel Rancho 9012's which also shows the brackets, and gives part #'s.

Take a look...... it might be what you're after. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Hey Greg I've read that article on the Furd shock towers and I like that concept, but I was thinking that running the shock at a more vertical angle would have better control on the front suspension and shock life. I don't really know just trying to get the most out of my front shocks when I change to a different suspension setup.

    Thanks for the advise.

    Eric.

Well you can put them in any position you want....more vertical if that's your preference.

Shock hoops might look "cooler" though.... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I finally came up with a design that I liked...but there were too many hours involved in making the shock hoops and that would have put the price over $100 easily. I plan to make a set for my truck, but that is as far as production will go. Get in touch with Rockstomper, they can probably make a set of weld in's for you.

Yeah I was checking out there website yesterday, it came up when I did a search in google for shock hoops. They look like what I might me looking for.

Have you got yours mounted up yet, if so how did they work out? Do you like the ride and the travel from them? Also do you have any picks of your design?

    Thanks for the info.
Oh yeah yunit, your K5 is really sweet, Dig the fender trimming.

Right now the design is in my laptop and the memory took a dump in it so I can't get my drawing's. I have not made them yet since I am busy doing like 20 other mods to the truck right now. Thanks for the compliment, the truck will only get better with in the next couple of months.

    Yunit,

Let me know how they come out I would like to see how they look and handle. It will be a few months before I can change the suspension on my K5.
