fuel pump

    got a little problem(i think) with the fuel pump. when i turn my truck off it stays on. i tried unplugging the relay but it still stayed on. any suggestions, or is this normal and im crazy. thanks.

    its a 1990 k5, tbi 350.

    I'd guess maybe it's an ignition switch or oil pressure switch (or both!) problem.

    I know that as it's wired, if the relay fails, the oil pressure switch will "force" the pump to work once it sees oil pressue, but I think that whole circuit only gets its power from the ignition, so you'd have to have at least an ignition switch problem as far as I can see, for the pump to work after the vehicle is turned "off".

    i hadnt driven it for about 1 week or so. but i drove it, parked it at a friends house, and disconnected the battery while i was inside for about 30 min. after that. hooked it back up and everything is goin fine now. weird, but im still gonna keep an eye/ear on it. thanks for the info though
