If I keep my '74, I'm looking to have a very simple 6-point cage built. Not a jungle gym, just a clean design the mimics that lines of the truck. I'm not looking to spend a fortune. I understand fabrication costs money and steel's not cheap.

Any recommendations on a local AZ builder that's dependable and reasonably priced? Talked to Hunter, who's a great guy, but he's just too expensive for my budget. I know Todd at Desert Fab, but haven't spoken with him in some time.

Any other shops or individuals to recommend? Want something ASAP.

Or the S&W if I go that route. Kinda wanted just to pay someone to build it, though; so I can blame them for getting weld spatter all over my brand-new seat covers and carpet :wink1:

the going rate is about $1800 for a fab shop (may or may not include seat mounts and seats in this price). The key is getting a cage that is as close to the roof as possible to facilitate not hitting your darn head all the time.

That seems way too much to me. I don't need seat mounts. I don't need super triangulation all the way around. I need a very clean 6-point cage. I'm 6'2 and have stock seats and a stock roll bar. I probably have a good 12 to 14 inches between my head and that bar when seated.
