Fullsize at Uwarrie - PIC\'S! finally works!!!

    Hey guys,

I just made a trip to Troy NC this past weekend. We waited around for for a friend to finish putting a new clutch in his Sami, (we were going to Zukuarri 2001). We rolled out of Goldsboro NC at Midnight. Got to Uwarrie National Forrest about 0330, found the camp ground after 4a, and got to sleep around 5a. We were up by 0700, and had Brian's Sami offloaded off the tow dolly. Got some breakfast and were trail bound. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do because all the other trucks were Sami's (aprox 40-60 of them). I ended up doing some of the "hard" trails. THEY SUCKED! Ran 95% of it in 2wd. We ended up on some of the other trails. We later ended up on some of the "Extreme" trails. These were easly do able with a slightly modified vehicle. If there had been any rain, the story may have been different. During the trip, I decided to show boat a little. Got the blazer airborn, blew the shock off the driver side rear, the T-case output seal was gone later into the day. On our way down a trail, we got into some twisty stuff. Doubled back, headed up a mountain and here is where it got interesting. We had a Sami in our group that had a blown head gasket EVEN BEFORE HE LEFT! He still decided to make the run. He was dumping oil into the radiator, not water into the cylinder. I ended up towing him up a incline of aporx 40-45 degrees. Brian and his 35" boggered Sami ended up having to be towed and winched up the mountain. By 1p, brian's new clutch wouldn't move his truck even on flat ground. At this point, we towed his sami back to camp. Shortly afterward, we loded it up and headed back to Goldsboro. By 7p (the same day we left) we were back home.

    I'll add some pic's

If you just type it wont work. It has to be [image]. Geocities doesnt allow you to use pictures on anything but a geocities site. If they're ad isnt there, they dont make any money.

Sounds fun! I'm supposed to head over to Uwharrie with S10-4x4.com in my 86 S-10 Blazer on May 19. Should be good for a fairly stock rig. Hopefully I can show off my half doors by then!

Were the trails really narrow? Would I scratch my paint a ton? Thanks!

Pictures look really good. Your Blazer is clean! Why did you go to Uwharrie with a bunch of Suzuki's? I bet your blazer is all scratched up now! Uwharrie, from past pic's that I've seen, looks small! Got any good pic's of that Suzuki with 35" Boggers? I've never seen them with any tire bigger then 31inch's! Keep her on all 4's.

Re: Fullsize at Uwarrie - PIC\'S! finally works!!!

Alright Blazin86, just had to go and throw that around huh? By the way, were you the one in the White Blazer witht he 2 hotties? Well I could have winched out if they didn't have that new fence. As it went, a sami tugged me out backwards. Not any real big issue. If I'd had lockers and or seen the ditch, it wouldn't have been an issue. As far as the trails, yes they are narrow, and the black showes scratches VERY WELL! The dust there was killer. Morons flying up and down the roads next to the campground sucked. There was a lot of landcruisers up there. They were thinking they were all bad arse and what not. I don't recall seeing them on the side of the mountain though. As far as why I went with a bunch of zuks, Brian needed a vehicle to tow his, and I had told him early this year that I'd take him. It was fun either way. Granted destroying trucks is never the best thing to do. I'm sure for all those interested there will be many pic's posted on the OR.C Zuk site. I haven't looked yet. I'm sure there are pic's of the 2 times I got pulled out of harms way by a zuk. I don't know if they have pic's of me towing a zuk up the mountain or winching one up it...
