Every time we use the terms "green" and "environmentalists" we are shooting
ourselves in the foot. We are not dealing with "greens" or
"environmentalists." We are dealing with Preservationists or Radical
    Preservationists.

You and I are environmentalists. We recognize the importance of protecting
fundamental environmental processes and creating a healthy human
environment. The Radical Preservationists have a different agenda. They
want to protect all creatures in forest ecosystems--at the cost of human use.

The general public believes that all things "environmental" are good. When
we attack "greens" and "environmentalists," we lose our potential audience.
Collectively, we must begin to use the terms "preservationists" and
"radical preservationists." When "RP" (Radical Preservationist) becomes as
commonplace as "green" and "environmentalist," we will start winning these
battles in the broader public arena.

It's very true! Coming off as a radical, or fanatic, doesn't keep the important audiance listening. Niether does calling your opponent a" fanatic, radical, eco dweeb" or any name other than your opponent, help your own cause. The minute you start calling the other guy a bunch of names, they say...hear we go again. It's one of those crazy militia types in his gas guzzl'n, oil spittin', eco destroyn' wrecks again! When that is far from the truth!
