    This should probably go in another forum but I cant figure out which one. If you own, or plan to own, a Rough Country lift or a Tuff Country lift and need REAL help with problems or just questions about the lift ask for these guys.

    Why would we need rear springs when we've got the ORD shackle flip right here at CK5?

    I am actually talking about help for parts related issues that even we cant answer or not in depth for that one person. Its a welcome choice to going back to incompetent idots like 4wheelparts. Its all good to get advice here but if it has to do with anything that we cant produce or warranty info. I am not to sure that we can help like the parent company for off the wall or item specific questions.

    Too Executioner's Q. -Spring rate formula-

    Try this.
    Calculating Leaf Spring Rates (as per Chassis Engineering, by Herb Adams)

    Leaf Spring Rate = (W x N divided by 12) x (1000t divided by L) to the 3rd power.

    W= Width of leaves (in.)
    N= Number of leaves, -Might want to do each one indipendently, then add them togather- Twiztid
    T= Thickness of leafes (in.)
    L= Length of springs (in.)
    12= A constant for all leaf springs

    For example; W= 3.00", N= 5.0, T= .25", L= 60"
    so;
    (3.00" x 5 divided by 12) x (1000 X .25" divided by 60) to the 3rd power

    = 1.25 x (4.17) to the 3rd

    = 90 lbs per inch

    I hope that helps out some. I tried it and got some pretty hefty numbers, but my math skills are kinda crapy (like my typing/spelling skills)- let mt know if it works for anyone else.

    BTH- I took me awhile to find and type that- so "give it up to Twiz, one time!"
