I noticed when I changed the sparkplugs in my 78 Blazer some shows signs of detonation. question is would this most likely be caused by Gas or timing. Also what octane gas does everyone use?

I run 106 racing gas in my 350 with the timing advanced. Runs great for me!

I use 87 with some booster every now and then. I'm taking the plunge to 93+booster next week when I go for emissions...

Hmm. My guess would be timing. Are you able to check it and see if it's set right or over-advanced? Do you ever hear it ping? You should be fine running 87 octane if it's stock.

Chevy boy, you got more mods on that puppy you forgot to mention? lol!
