I am having gas cap problems because the area that my gas cap connects to is all worn out and the cap does not stay. All it does is spin in the given area and does not seal up the pressure needed. Any suggestions?

If I am not mistaken, I think that area is unboltable. You could just go get a new piece for in there and a new tank filler tube. You may be able o get away with just buying the filler tube if it just slides threw the boltable area mentioned above.

Look closely at the filler neck to see what's damaged. The cap on my '75 didn't want to stay tight until I bent the filler neck back into the correct shape. The locking tangs had gotten out of shape over the years. The cap stays on fine now.

Also check the cap and make sure it is in good shape. Mine was just spinning around and I had to replace the Cap itself.
    Good luck!

Hey man, the filler neck is just a metal piece that will come off with a screwdriver and a 3/8" socket. Take it off and get one from a junkyard. Easy as pie. :)
