Not to bad really, in boot camp the chamber was a sealed room, and the gas was real thick, looked like a bob marley concert

Here the room wasen't air tight, and they diddent use as many pills
    but its still no fun:D

The MOPP suits I trained with in the 70s, werre heavy old black rubber. Guaranteed to sweat 20 lbs off you in 20 minutes. Do they still use DS-2 to decon with???? It does a fine job of turning OD pink!!!

oh dear lord I hated going to the chamber. Boot camp was, of course, the worst... but that chit always messed me up bad. When I was in Cuba we went quarterly... but somehow, in spite of only being there 367 days, I went 5 times. Miserable **** for sure.

Imagine being the DI, and having to act all badass while your armpits are on fire and your nose and eyes are running down your face. Not to mention not coughing your guts out till all the trainees are outta sight.:doah:

Where is Readymix we can have him compare the chamber to the OC he just got yesterday:D . I only did the chamber once and like was stated before is was so thick with that **** that you could not see almost solid smoke. Remove the mask and state your full Navy name and what division you were in. If you did not inhale they would not let you leave until you got a big lung full. Boy did it suck big time.

funny thing about all this is, its completely unecessary. When I worked at a chemical plant after I got out, we did gas mask testing too... but they used a banana extract (super strong smell) to test to see if the mask was working. No red eyes, drooling nose or scared lung tissue required!

We dont do it to test the mask we do it so the individuals know what it is like and to build trust in the equipment:D . Plus it builds character:haha:

First time wasn't bad. Second time was a dream cause I had a bad head cold. Cleared 'er right up which was a good thing since I was hopping a plane that night.

Third time, civilian, doing some police type training sucked, almost passed out.

Fourth time wasn't bad, but this is where the ****ing Crazy Jarhead story comes in.

Had a buddy in the academy that was a Marine. Poster boy Marine, Force Recon, all that good stuff. Had learned the ways of the ninja. While inside the gas house, he strolls in, sans mask and precedes to roll off about forty pushups.

    :D :D :D

The CS is not near as bad as the OC. I bet Surpip would agree.
I went into the CS last year in Great Lakes. I was an observer for some "training" that is better left undiscussed.
We had 85+ pills set aside to train 50 luky people. It was pretty funny to watch until someone took my mask off as a joke.

Yeah the 85 pills were all used, then we grabbed another box. I am sure that someones DIVO was a little pissed at the expendeture.......but it was fun.

Just for a scale comparison. All the pills were used and "training" was complete in about an hour.

It was pretty thick, but I was fine until someone raked my mask off. My skin was burning pretty bad though.

The best part was watching a group trying to put a puzzle together in that environment:haha::haha:
