Gas Mileage on an \'86 S-10 pick up????

Wondering if anyone has one, and if so, what kinda gas mileage are you guys getting. The one I might buy is a 2wd 4 cylinder, 4sp, and std cab shortbed.
Just getting it to run around in and for experimental purposes/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I had a 91 2wd 4cyl 5spd that got about 20-22 mpg. That of course was with no power steering, and mechanical brakes. Also it was a 2.5L. Hope this helped.

I have a '92 S-10 with the 2.5L. I get about 18 city and no more than 21 hwy. It's gutless in my opinion! My father drives an '87 Nissan 4cyl that kicks the crap out of my S-10, mileage and power! If you're using this truck to get around town and run small errands, look for a truck that has true fuel injection. That depends of course on what experimental purposes you have planned. If your plans include trashing the engine, go for it! Just my opinion though! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
