    HEY ALL,
I know it's kinda pointless with most of use drivinf big ol' V-8's, but with gas hitting $2.20 and up, what arte you all doing to get better gas mileage out of your Blazers. I have a 84' 350 with a edelbrock carb. I think the main thing is can you add performance and gain gas mileage at the same time. Just thought it was a good thing to bring up with gas prices going through the roof this summer.

well my solution is to keep it broken![IMG]that way i cant drive it!no im kiddin, ive been havin tranny probs.the blazer is not a daily driver its a toy.so mileage isnt really an issue for me.its capable of being a daily driver(when the trannys in it)but we have 2 other cars for daily use.

Gas milage in our trucks is pointless! Blazers have the areodynamics(?sp) of a BRICK! LOL BTW regular is "only" $1.80 here.

Keep the air pressure up in the tires...its free too. I have 35-40 in mine, up from 28-30, and I gained 1-1.5mpg driving the same way.

O.K. this is a joke, but the last thing I want to hear is how much you all pay for gas back East. My best friend calls me from Texas at least once a week and the first thing he says is "gas is $1.50 here". That dosen't do my any good here in CA. They're saying that gas is going to go over $3.00 dollars a gallon this summer. All I'm trying to do is save a few cents here and there. The last thing I want to do is give up my Big Ol' V-8 Blazer with the top off and have to start driving some piece of SH*T YUGO. I'd rather save money driving something I love, than save ALOT of money driving something I hate. Just my two cents AGAIN!

I'm down here on Camp Pendleton and the gas is staying at $1.89 on base. I personally aired up and have been just keeping up on the maintenance so that I know it's running efficiently. I've been considering a MSD box for what help it may have. Lucky for me I can ride my mountain bike to work in about 30 minutes. It takes me 20 minutes to drive. As soon as my shoulder heals (from the last tme I fell) I'll be riding again. Power Bars and PB&J are cheaper than gas. Good Luck.

well here in the midwest the spikes are hittingh pretty good, but I have to say I'll drive my K5 over a crappy beater or stupid Geo. There's not a ton you can do... these are big trucks... heavy and boxy. Look at the gears you have... too low will suck gas as will too high. You can add a MSD coil and gap the plugs @ .o60 for a nice 1-2mpg gain... add the box if you don't have HEI, otherwise you should be ok... obviously a good tune up and properly tuned carb if equipped. Some say a K&N adds some but I never noticed anything. Also headers and dual exhaust should help as well.

The best thing for gas milage I can think of is to keep a good tune-up. Another thing you can do is put a Q-Jet back on for the smaller primaries on the carb. Just my $.02.
