Gas mileage??? What is that, some new fangled eco-warrior hippy crap? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Like all real men I just fill the beast up when it needs it, twice a week or more. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif As for miles on the clock I think I must have 175K + ( the speedo has been a litte off for 2-3 years now. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

My 68 4x4 shorty with a 300 horse 383 small block,Holley 600 cfm, th400, 3.07 gears and 33 inch bfg tires gets about 13 easing down the highway. If I floor it, the gas gauge will get sucked into the carb.

i get anywhere from 8-14 depending on how I'm driving....

its a VERY TIRED engine- with over 200K on it.....

but then theres that Duramax in the driveway....and it gets 21.5 average...so it makes up for the K5

Believe it or not, I get 18-19 MPG if I keep my 84(305/700r4) under 60 MPH in OD. The minute I get above 65 MPH, my mileage drops to about 14/15 MPG. This is with 87 octane gas and Redline or Amsoil gas additive.

My 305 has about 176K HARD miles on it...... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My milage is similar to Canmores.
I just got back from a trip to granny's house. Checked my milage coming back home. Took me a little over 3 hours to do 250 miles at 80 mph. got 15.8 MPG.
If I cruise at 65 I get 18+. but 65 is so slow.
    350 TBI 700r4 3.73, 33" MTs. with 86,000 miles on the clock.

On 31's with 4.10 gears with OD, fresh 358 with cam with TBI, I get about 9 MPG on average. The 36's and 14 bolt go on in the next 2 weeks, will let you know how much it changes.

With a normally asperated 415ci/th350/4.56 gearing on wide 38's I get 15 to 16 mpg hwy and 8 to 10 mpg when I'm aggressive with it. I get about 12 mpg consitently on the trails.

I get about 7.5mpg on the fwy. doing about 70. I bet I get better mileage around town because the motor isn't spinning so fast (4.56 gears, 36" tires, and a 400sbc).

The truck has about 130,000 miles on it.
If you figure that gas cost about $1.00 on average than there would bave been $17,333 in gas run through the thing!

I have a 406ci smallblock with lots of engine mods, it has 15000 miles since my last rebuild and gets about 7-9mpg, 2-3 if I'm bombing dunes in 4-lo. It's got a TH350, NP 203, 3.73's and 33's. I am adding AFR heads and a .520" lift cam, expect to get about 6mpg after that /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

I got an 88' 350tbi, 700R4, and 3.42 (I think) in the rear and I get 11-12 in the city. Hardly ever go highway so I don't know about that. The guy I bought it from said it got 16mpg. Bulls#%t, maybe with a 20mph wind behind me. I plan to switch over to a SM465 this summer, hopefully that will help some. If not, no big deal. Now if gas prices ever hit $3.00 a gallon for regular unleaded, then we'll worry about gas mileage.
