My dad Is convinced that any kind of gasoline Blazer can't get any kind of decent mileage so I was just wondering what some of you were getting out there. Also wondering with what size tires and gears. I have a diesel and it gets anywhere from 13 to 17 I think.

My 81 Jimmy, cruisin at about 60-65 MPH steady on the freeway will get about 14-15 MPG (US gallon). I have 35's, 3.73's and the SM465 4 speed. It seems like anything above 60-65 kills my mileage, of course it has the aerodynamics of a barn so that may have something to do with it.[IMG]

My '78 does on the road everything between 8 and 14mpg, depending on where and how i drive. The 14 is on the highway at about 60mph and caressing the accelerator. [IMG]

My '91 seems to be the same as Rene's. I get 14.7 average when cruising at 65 and 12 around town (I generally keep my foot out of it.) It's a 350, 465, 3.73, with 33's. These numbers are corrected for odometer error. Because of tire and gear changes, blazer odometers are ofter inaccurate. If you really want to compare gas mileage, you must use a correction factor for the odometer error.

If I keep it at 60 on the freeway and go EASY on the pedal i can hit about 12 MPG but around town having fun.. I'm lucky with 10 MPG... I have 3.73's and the original tires for a few more days...
I'll let you know the difference with the 35's will make...

Um... yes officer I know it's too big...

Well, it's not a Blazer, but I do want to swap the drivetrain into one. Currently my K30 454,Th400,205,4.11, 38.5's gets 10-11 highway, 7-8 city (mpg per Canadian gallon).

my '89 with exhaust, 33's, and a light foot will flirt with 17. i've got just over 300 miles on half a tank this time; i've tried to let everyone pass me on the commute instead of staying on the gas all the time to be in front. i average about 15.

I should probably figure out what my Jimmy's mpg is, but it would probably just make me really, really sad. [IMG] haha

On my old 89 Jimmy w/ tbi, I added Bosch Platinum plugs, accel cap and wires w/ Thrush muffler, I was getting around 18mpg on the highway. That's no joke.. and I wasn't easy on the gas pedal.
I'm a firm believer on the Bosch Platinums.. !!

It's better to have it than to need it, than to need it and not have it !!!!

On my 90 with 3.42s and 33s I get about 8-11 in the city, but i'm kinda heavy on the pedal. I was told by the guy I bought it from that it gets 14 on the highway, but I haven't done enough highway driving to know for sure.

I get an average of 12.5 mpg with 3.73's, 350, 700r4 and 33's crusing no faster than 65-70. After that, milage bites!

Got a 350, turbo 400 and 4.10 gears. Afraid to check the mpg but my ears pop every time I step on the gas.

Not to be arguementative but the BRITISH (Imperial) gallon is 4.54 litres and the US gallon is 3.78 litres like wstolar said. We Canadians don't have a Gallon to call our own!! [IMG][IMG]

Hey buddy, if you can clone that '72 you'll make a million $. Check that odometer out just to be sure.
