I am putting in my shakle flip from DIY this weekend and I have seen in several threads and reviews that it is easier if I swing down the gas tank. I was wondering 2 things. Has anybody out there tried it with out lowering the tank out of the way, what were the issues you had? And second if I was to swing down the 1 end of the tank what is the best way? Do I just cut the straps or what? THANKS for the help.

If you cut the straps, how will you get it bolted back up?:eek1:

The issue I had was getting the nuts on the bolts to tighten the shackle flip down on the frame. It's not impossible, but lowering the gas tank was much quicker than fighting with trying to fit my hand in such a tight space.
