I have my 350 running pretty good, except at times after tooling around town or after running at low speeds I get a strong smell of gas. No leaks at all at the carb, and I have changed the evap cannister up front. I do get an occasional check engine light when I pull away from a stoplight. When I reach speed and let off the gas the light goes out. Should I attack the EGR valve next?? thanks... /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Man do I feel stupid...the gas smell came from...are you ready??...a friggen gas leak!! DOH!! I thought that because some of the smog parts weren't working well that that had to be it. I had a cracked filter housing on the front of the carb. I guess someone over tightened the fitting at one time and replaced it with a self tapping fitting. the threads held but the carb housing cracked. Never seen that before...live and learn...
