Im wanting to put some 3.73's in my front ten bolt axle and currently have 3.08's and was wondering if I need a new carrier for the 3.73's or can I just put the new 3.73 ring and pinion right in?

Also, if you are going to be paying for new gears you might as well go deeper then 3.73. I would say at least 4.56 or 4.88 with the 39.5 swampers it says you run. You aren't going to gain much with 3.73. Anything is better then nothing, but go as low as possible.

I agree with hossbaby. If you're runnin almost 40s then you definitely need at the least a 4.56. Might actually be a good time to think about switch out axles as well, if you do a lot of wheeling.
