    There should be a long string of numbers on the edge of the ring gear. Towards the end of the string you should find something like 41 11, which is 3.73's. There should also be an RPO code sticker in your glovebox. Here are the axle code ratios:

    GU2 = 2.73
    GU4 = 3.08
    GU6 = 3.42
    GT4 = 3.73
    GT5 or GT8 = 4.10
    G80 = Gov-lock

    Match up the list to what's on your RPO sticker and you'll know what it left the factory with. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

    thanks....it says that they are 2.73, but i don't know how that would work with the tires i used to have on it. 36" TSLs, before my axle swap

    Ugh! 2.73's would be a dog with the stock tires. I can't imagine trying to drive with 36's and those gears. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

    He has a heavy foot so it works out. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Now that he has 4.56's I have the feeling he's going to end up roasting those 36's

    If you've already opened the cover it's simple. Just count the teeth in the ring and the pinion. Then divide the big number by the small number and that's your gear ratio.
