ok, here's the deal. I've been dinking with this 3/4 ton stuff in my garage, yard, driveway, closet... for TOOOOOO long now. It's got a GREAT set of 4.10's in it, but I'm looking hard at going with the 4.56's. I don't exactly want to pay to have the stuff re-geared, but if I need to, done. I'm gonna be running a 35-36" tire and have a 700 tranny. What I'm needing is convincing that I'll be happy with 4.10's. COME AWN!!! HELP ME OUT HERE!!! I DON'T WANT TO SPEND ANY MORE MONEY!!

If you are not rock crawling or other extreme off road use or pulling heavy trailers the 4.10 gears should be fine. Its not great but it could be worse. If you already have the gears for both axles, try them out before getting lower gears. Then if you don't like them you can relace them later.

I concur with Kodiak. Give the stuff you have a whirl first then If the gears are too dead then move up to 456s. I really don't know If doing gears the "right" way needs to be a convincing arguement. you will tach at 2164.8 rpms at 55 mph with the 35s, when your in overdrive its 1515 rpms. With 36s its 2104.6rpms at 55, in overdrive its 1473.3rpms. Now with the 456s at 55 with 35s your at 2407rpms,in overdrive its 1685.4, with 36s at 55 its, 2340rpms, in overdrive its 1638 rpms. NEED A BREATHER, HOPE THIS HELPS JS.

I've got a BETTER idea.....Sell them to me as I 'm looking for a set of 4.10 gears. They probably won't work in your vehicle anyway(just kidding)!!!!!
