gearing ?????

    I have a 1987 gmc 36 ground hawgs a 465 with a 208 a built 6.2 diesel 4.11 rear ends and i want a gear to be more for highway use cause it winds out to easy and i drive it to mexico from il any ideas???? /forums/images/graemlins/crewcab.gif

    Check out www.4lo.com. There's a great gear calculator on there that will tell you engine rpm, mph, etc. in relation to the tire and axle gear ratio you choose.

    i would keep those gears but if you want better freeway gears go with 3:73's

    Because you have the diesel I would reccomend probably either 3.42s or 3.73s. 3.42s would keep you rpms down, but if you motor doesnt have alot of power it will be real slow off the line.
