gears and lockers

    when i bought my blazer, it came with detriot lockers and the differ. covers have AG (american gears) does that mean they changed the gears also or how can i test and find out?

    They might of hard to tell though. If it is omething like 3.08 in a 1/2 ton i doubt they changed it though.

    Kinda pointless to drop the money on a detroit locker and not gears first, if it is real doggy power wise then you probably have 3.08, if you can bark the tires on a straight takeoff then you might have 3.73, if you can flat out spin them then its probably 4.10 or even 4.56 /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

    If it has lockers and they changed the gears I would think they'd go with lower gears. The rotate the tires and count the drive shaft metod will give you an idea of the ratio. You can also pull the covers and see if the ring gears are stamped.
