    how can i tell what gears i have? i know they are high because i can do 70 mph at about 2000 rpms. i'm not in the market to replace them right now but would like to sound like i know what i'm talking about when the time comes. if anybody knows i have an 81 with GM 10 bolts.

    I THINK they might be 3.08 or 3.42 You can do two things. Check for a little tag on teh diff cover that has the ratio stamped on it or you can pop the diff cover and count the teethe and divide them to check the ratio..
