You and me both bud. My truck is going into my friends garage next week as well. We'll be shooting it with '99 Chevy Silverado Dark Metallic Gray. I think it'll look sweet! Although who knows with me doing the prep and the paint. hehe Wish me luck

Getting mine painted in about two weeks also. Going to paint the topper black and the truck Kawasaki green. The only bad thing is a guy I work with is going to paint it for a good price and I backed into the side of his truck after work today. MAN THAT SUCKS

I'm having it painted black with silver graphics going down the side. Getting it done for $2800 including parts. New quarters, rockers, tailgate, panel in front of tailgate, etc. Hopefully it'll turn out nice. Can't wait to get it done. Only thing that sucks is I get stuck driving the wife's F*rd while it getting painted. It is a Mustang convertible though, so I guess I can live.

Yellow has the heaviest color-grains in it and it's the hardest to spray without getting run's. Shiny-Black is also hard because every "nook" shows. I have read that show-car builders paint theyr car's shiny-black first. Then when everything looks good, sands them down and go with the color they want. This to öptimize the final result.
    Good luck with the paint-jobb!!

Its an 84,I also thought yellow would look cool but their is a lot of other trucks that are painted that color around were I live. By the way what type of paint are you guys using to paint with base coat clear coat or acrylic paint?

I just, this thursday was at the paint-store asking the guy what I should do. He said it was acrylic paint and that to get it to stick, without flaking in a year I would have to sand it down to the bare metal. I have flaking on the silver-grey part on my 88. I wish those before me would have done it right!!

I was also told if your going to spend any time off road :) that acrylic paint was better because it doesn't scrach as easily.
