Ok, I ordered poly-urethane bushings for my leafs. The package I got said proudly, 4WD 88-95 K5 Blazer, Suburban. But later trying them they turned out to be about 1/3 inch to wide. How can this be? Do I have some weird leafs or anything.

Well, with that failed, I thought I'd roll the rear axle under and deal with the bushings later. But when I landed the drive shaft on the (what is it called?) U-Yoke, it not either. I always thought and have been told the 12bolt rear is a complete bolt up when replacing a 10bolt rear. Bit the 10 bolt rear seems to accept a larger drive shaft. What do I have to do now? One option is a cusom made drive shaft, but could I order a u-yoke that does fit?

Please help.

Cool. I have the same brand. Numbers were 2102 and 2101 I think.

I do hope the shop will take mine back though. Paid big time money for it. $180 for all springs and shackles.

ok that sounds like the first ones i had...so you do have the wrong ones...the part# stamped on the bushing itself should be 2004...ill look for the part number of the kit tommorow...i threw the package away at the shop so i get to go dumpster diving to look for it...hehe /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

The simple fix is buy a conversion u-joint that has the 10 bolt caps on one side and the 12 bolt caps on the other. some conversion u-joints are kinda pricey but still a lot cheaper than having a new end put on the shaft.

So that is the rear leaf kit, with the shackle bushings as well? Or even a full kit for the whole rig?

Thanks Chaz, you're a big help.

As for the driveshaft problem, I've searched every shop and junkyard, but no luck. (at least not a price I can live with) Now the plan is to weld a Chevy drive shaft and a (don't laugh too loud please) Jeep drive shaft together.

As for that last thing that was brought up, we broke up and she drives Toyota anyway. But this site is for our cars, not our private lives. Or am I wrong?

You can swap the 10 bolt yoke to the 12 bolt but your going have to buy a 16.00 seal at napa PN CR 19277
This info thanks to K5DRAGER

Also a seal for a 87 k-5 10 bolt front should work from Autozone
P/N 8662 its only 6.00
But i dont know for sure yet about the autozone seal ill find out tommorow.

I converted my Blazer to a 12 bolt rear also, I just used the yoke from the 10 bolt and had to replace the pinion seal with the same one mentioned above. Easy enough...
