last night i was at the auto parts store buying a glass pack
for my /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif i got to talking with the auto parts salesman
and he told me using a glass pack will burn up my valves
he said that when i shut my motor off it is like a vacume
and cold air will be sucked in through the pipes and warp the valves he said a turbo muffler would be the way to go
Dynomax, Magna flow and edelbrock etc. make strait through
mufflers that are desinged just like glass packs so whats the deal is this true or not?????????

dude He's blowing smoke up your A$$ there is some truth to what he's saying but only if your exhaust is super short like just past the manifolds that might happen but doubtful /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

You should go back and ask him how he would expain how all of the vehicles that use glass packs are still running. If what he says is true, everyone who uses them would have warped valves. Don't listen to him, he was just trying to sell you a more expensive muffler.

If you can run straight pipes with out a problem glasspacks are NOT gonna hurt anything at all
A freind of mine just got his truck drivible with a pretty healthy 460 and he ran open headers for a few days but it was EXTREMELY loud so he got some cheap glasspacks that bolt on to his headers and he hasent had a problem yet(he only driven it for about 2months) but he dosent have any pipe at all
