Just picked up a GM-3 turbo off a 1993 6.5. What are the differences as compared to a later GM-5?

A GM5 has a vertical wastegate assembly, and a more efficient compressor and impeller section. A 5 is truly superior to a 2, 3, or 4. The only difference between a 5 and an 8 is the wastegate bushing and arm assembly.
