Does anyone know if this diesel engine would bolt up to a 1989 blazer. I am out here in california and have a blown 6.2 engine. Its really hard to find around the junkyards here and most want 800+ with a 30 day waranty. I don't want to drop that much unless i know that the engine is good. However there are handfuls of the 5.7 diesels in junkyards for like 100 each. please let me know.
    thanks everyone :)

Stay away from the 5.7L. Total piece of crap.

    1982 6.2L Diesel K5 Blazer, TH700, 31 inch tires.
    Fire ALWAYS makes it better.

The 5.7 was thre dreaded Oldsmobile diesel conversion (from gas). Yes it has a bad reputation for blown head gaskets and such. No it will not bolt up, it has the BOP (Buick Old Pontiac) bellhousing pattern not the chevy pattern your 6.2 has.

Real trucks don't have spark plugs!

5.7.....(sounds of someone heaving into a large toilet)

6.2 Great mileage and lasts forever

6.5 Good engine....electronics and computers...not so good..but otherwise another great engine

Duramax YUMMY!!...but you can't hear the Diesel portion of it...too restrictive exhaust..need open headers!! And then computer portion again....

    SK-15
    J**P...it's whats for dinner!
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need any roads!
If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all!!

Hey, Thanks to that little piece of dung, GM Diesel prices are comparatively lower than for other makes! So stand up and show your appreciation;)
