My feeling is that if you add nitro to your motor your lookin' for trouble. For an engine to seriously use nitro it needs to be built to support it. You might get away with one of the cheap kits that adds up to 125 horse, but it'll wear out your motor really quick.

Are you talking about Nitrous Oxide, or Nitromethane? Nitromethane is the fuel used in top fuel drag cars and requires like 13:1 compression, because it doesn't burn as fast as gasoline. That's why it is still burning when it comes out the headers. You would have to make extensive modifications to your engine to run nitromethane.
Nitrous Oxide is not a fuel, it is a gas (not liquid, vapor) that condenses the air fuel mixture so more air and fuel get into the combustion chamber. Nitrous oxide will give you a quick boost of power when you need it.
