I think /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif i might have the best deal on a DD tow rig. it is a 94 3/4 ton Sub /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif with 454, 9 seats, CD player, tow package, tow tone, 92k, owned by a person that has a 2003 Saquoya (toy), 2002 Tahoa, and 99 Vet, well maintained, one owner, not used to tow much, his dad that live 2 houses away has a 1 ton Powerstroke that he would tow with when needed. nice paint, good inside, ABS, newer tires, new brakes, all new fluids last fall. and 3000 miles last year. price is $7K

any thing to look out for????? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Gas stations... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif That 454 is a thirsty pig. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

We've got a '94 1/2-ton Sub, with the 350/4L60E setup with 116K on the clock, and it has been as reliable as a rock. The a/c compressor started rattling, so it will be replaced this week, but otherwise, over the last 5 years it has not required any major repairs. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Ours gets 10-12 in town and right at 14 on the highway, with the 350. On one trip to Austin it got 16, but we had 30-50 MPH tailwinds for the entire trip. On the way back, it dropped to 14 again. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My little 4.3L V6 powered S-Jimmy gets 18-19 on the highway, so getting 18 with a 454 in a 6,000+ pounds truck that has the aerodymanics of a barn sounds like a pipedream, unless you're cruising 50-55 in the slow lane, in overdrive, with 80 PSI in the tires. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
