So, I want a new camera. Any recomendations? I want something that will take good "still" photos, but also take good action photos, like when I`m wheelin'...Thanks in advance...

    here`s the site : www.QVC.com

Ben I'm in the market too. I started a thread (rant) last night regarding my busted camera and most of the guys that responded recommended a Canon Powershot (I guess there's quite a few different models) so that's what I'm most likely going to get.

I have no idea what it costs, but i saw a guy with a waterproof digital camera when i was in mexico. Looked like any other digi these days except WP! it was ****in awesome, my brother or i have broke the last 3 digi's we had by either falling through the ice in a puddle while trying to take pics of me driving through it, dropping it in the water, and getting thrown in the pool with it in a pocket:doah:

when i get some money i'm gettin a water proof one :)

i have a degree in photography and have used a number of cameras. i still prefer my slr and film for "serious" picture taking, especially action shots. but the digi cams are fast catching up. i've owned an olympus for the past couple years and it's worked well. i got a new kodak for christmas and like it alot more. it's simple to use, takes good pics and vids (w/ sound). plus you can get the printer dock for it. i was surprised how good the prints are. they are really close to film quality. the camera sits on the dock and 1 button to print or import to your computer. really a nice system. of course it comes w/ a usb cable so you can load pics without the dock, too.

Check out www.dpreview.com for a pretty extensive list and review of the market. He has many reviews and is understanding that there are varying levels of expertise and financial constraints.

And for what it's worth.... with your constraints (QVC and <$200) I would go with the Item Number E171708. I just spent a few minutes looking through and think that camera would prob suit you fine. I like that it has 5x optical zoom and image stabilaztion.

Its a 3.1 MP. I doubt that they sell it anymore, but if the new ones are anywhere near as tough, they should be great.

    easyshare z710. 7.1 mega pixel

here's a couple of pic and a short vid i took a couple weeks ago on vacation in key west to give you an idea. i was surprised at the quality of the video. not as good as real video camera, but alot better than i've seen from other digital cameras. and these were only set on medium resolution (i think about 3 mega pixel).

what's left of a bonita after a baracuda came by while reeling it in.
