I know some of you have never bought anything off of eBay. Rather it's due to you know nothing about it or you are not interested. I know some of you have and have found good deals...well I bought an amp from a seller and it's been great. I am going to buy a CD player from them now because they have great prices. Compare them to crutchfield.com and you'll see what I mean! These are nice folks, professional and have good products. Their eBay user name is Scala1. I thought I would pass it along in case anyone was interesting in trying out buying audio equipment on eBay for the first time or if you are a old timer and have bought tons of stuff. We all like good deals and you'll score one if you deal with these folks! [IMG]

I was about to buy a pair of Pioneer speakers from them, but then I found a pair of Rockford Fosgate 6x9s on http://www.ubid.com for a lower price. You might want to check them too. I while ago they had a JVC CD changer/cassette head unit combo for about $150.

Ubid's the devil. Been known to send product that is OBVIOUSLY used and abused. Missing directions. Damaged. Customer service horror stories about them are posted regularly on RAC(rec.audio.car). I would avoid Ubid at all costs.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That's strange. I've bought about 10 times from them. All my Blazer's stereo parts are from Ubid. Never had a problem with them.

Ubid is great...if you can get lucky you can find good prices of NEW products. The truth is UBid does deal in a great volume of reconditioned things. There is nothing wrong with buying those products. I have bought them and have decent luck. However just because something is sealed does not mean it is new. Shrink wrap (which is also simply to replace- I know how to wrap stuff) is always replaced when things are reconditioned or returned to audio places. Just how it is. They want to make sure the returned items stick together parts/instruction wise. You can tell if your items were new or used by the serial number sticker that should be on it. If new it will have the number and original sticker. If reconditioned it'll have a different sticker letting you know it's reconditioned. Reason being once an item is reconditioned it doesn't carry the same manufactors warrenty as a new item would carry. It might be very limited. Anytime you buy something they should tell you up front. But I have bought stuff which I believed to be new and discovered when at home and the box opened it was not. In a case where you were lead to believe it was new when it's not, you can return it. Well, you should be able too if the person/store is half way honest. But like I said just because it's sealed doesn't mean it's new so beware of that and items listed as new on UBid being items that really are reconditioned.....
