    What do I need to make a standard size head unit fit into the stock location on my 83' Jimmy. I read something about a kit, but i dont really remember. Thanks in advance

    By "stander size deck" do you mean a DIN deck....if so your going to need to trim the sheet metal of the dash where the original radio went and trim the plastic too. The dash is the hard part but be carefull with the plastic. They brake real easy.

    Get a dremel tool with cut off wheels.It made short work of mounting my cd player. Just trace the size of the bracket that the unit slides into onto the truck and cut her up

    wal-mart and the like have generic mounting kits to replace the gm brick. comes with a trimmable piece of black plastic, and assorted hardware bits and pieces.

    havew fun cutting your dash.. i had to make a day out of it. still needs some work but at least i have my pioneer mounted and i can annoy them old ppl at the lights.
